Named after Master Distiller Emeritus Elmer T. Lee, the man who originate the idea of a single barrel offering by bringing Blanton’s to market. Elmer was an innovator and a truly unique personality in the whiskey world, he was the master distiller for 36 years, before retiring in 1985 and passing in 2013. This whiskey is hand selected and bottled to the taste and standards of the late Elmer T. Lee himself.

Buffalo Trace Distillery is a historic producer located in Frankfort, Kentucky. It has been know by several names over the course of its history, but claims to be the oldest continuously operating distillery in the United States, with records going back to 1775 and the oldest building dating from 1792.
Meanwhile, During Prohibition, Buffalo Trace was allowe to stay open to make whiskey for “medicinal purposes”. The Sazerac Company of New Orleans bought the company in 1992. The Buffalo Trace Straight Bourbon whiskey was introduced in 1999, when the distillery changed its name from George T. Stagg, although this name survives in a straight Bourbon still made at the facility.
